A great little solution for wireless control that allows up to 2Mbit communication over the range of 40-100m. It has an antenna. The nRF24L01 is a single-chip 2.4GHz transceiver with a built-in baseband protocol engine (EnhancedShockBurst ™) designed for ultra-low power wireless applications.
The
nRF24L01 is designed to operate in the global ISM frequency band of 2.4002.4835GHz. Designing a wireless system using the nRF24L01 requires an MCU (microcontroller) and a few external passive components. The nRF24L01 is configured and operated via the Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI). Register mapping is available from this interface. The register map contains all the configuration registers of the nRF24L01 and is accessible in all modes of operation of the chip.
The
Embedded Baseband Protocol Engine (EnhancedShockBurst ™) is based on packet communication and supports a variety of modes, from manual operation to enhanced autonomous protocol operation. The internal FIFO ensures a smooth flow of data between the wireless front end and the system's MCU. Enhanced ShockBurst ™ reduces system costs by handling all high-speed link-layer operations. The wireless front end uses GFSK modulation. There are user-configurable parameters such as frequency channel, output power, and air data rate.
